Doctrinal Statement
Doctrinal Statements for Labourers For Christ Ministries, Labourers For Christ Word Life Center and The Sexual and Relational Healing Retreat
1.) We believe the Holy Scriptures, including both Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired and infallible Word of God. It is the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of all mankind and totally inerrant and the final authority for all Christian faith and life.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; John 16:12-13; 2 Peter 1:20-21
2.) We believe in one Triune God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing as: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost, three persons, yet one God. Who is worthy of all possible honor, confidence and love.
Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 2:9-10
3.) We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God. He was conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary, that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. Furthermore, He was crucified, He died, and was buried, and He was bodily resurrected from the grave on the third day.
Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-21, 27-50, 28:1-10;
John 1:1-2, 14; Luke 1:35
4.) We believe that the Lord, Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on Calvary, as a representative substitutionary sacrifice in providing an unlimited atonement for the sins of the world, our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. Those who repent of their sins and personally accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour shall receive forgiveness of sin and eternal life.
Romans 3:24-25, 10:9-10; 1 Peter 1:3-5, 2:24;
Ephesians 1:7
5.) We believe that He ascended into heaven, and is now exhalted at the right hand of God the Father, where He now is our High Priest, our Representative, Intercessor and Advocate.
Acts 1:9-10; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 9:24; 1 John 2:1-2
6.) We believe that the ministry of the Holy Ghost is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and during this age convict mankind, regenerate the believing sinner, and indwell, instruct, guide and empower the believer for Godly living and service.
John 14:26
7.) We believe that the fruit of the Holy Ghost should be increasingly evident in each and every Christian life.
Galatians 5:22-23
8.) We believe that all of the Gifts of the Holy Ghost should be operative in today’s Church. These gifts have been distributed severally according to the Father’s will, and are essential for true ministry to the body of Christ: To prepare God’s people for works of service through edification and exhortation; To conform us into the image of, and perfection within the stature of Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:7-11; Ephesians 4:11-16; Romans 8:26-29
9.) We believe that man was created in the image of God, but through Adam, fell into sin. Man has therefore inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God. Man is totally depraved and without faith in Jesus Christ, unable to change his lost condition. Only through regeneration by the Holy Ghost can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:25-27, 5:12
10.) We believe that salvation is a free gift from God, given to all mankind by God’s grace and received by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who shed His blood on Calvary and was resurrected for mankind’s sins. This provides the only grounds for justification and salvation. Only those who received Jesus as Lord are born of the Holy Ghost, and thus become children of God.
John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-12; 1 Peter 1:18-19
11.) We believe in the Redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ and that, that work provides healing and deliverance for mankind’s spirit, soul, and body.
Galatians 3:13
12.) We believe that the redeemed, once saved can be kept by God’s power.
Romans 8:38-39; 1 Corinthians 1:4-8; 1 Peter 1:5
13.) We believe that the Church, which is a body of baptized believers, is the body and espoused bride of Jesus Christ, of which He is Lord and head.
1 Corinthians 12:12-13; 2 Corinthians 11:2;
Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:25-27
14.) We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament scriptures.
Acts 14:27, 20:17, 28-32; 1 Timothy 1:1-13; Titus 1:5-11
15.) We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ left ordinances to be observed by the local church. These ordinances include the Lord’s Supper and Water Baptism (immersion). They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation. We believe in the complete work of baptism, therefore it need only be done once in a believers life. We baptize in the names of God. *No person is qualified to have part in either of these two ordinances unless they have been born again.*
Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:38, 41, 46-47; 8:12-13, 36-39; 16:33; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32
16.) We believe in personal sanctification and Holiness.
1 Thessalonians 5:23; 1 Peter 1:15-16
17.) We believe that it is the obligation of the saved to witness by life and by word to the truth of the Holy Scripture and to seek to proclaim the Gospel to all mankind.
Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8, 11;
2 Corinthians 5:19-20
18.) We believe with hopeful and joyous expectation in the triumphant return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 4:16
19.) We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, to the saved, everlasting blessing and joy with the Lord (eternal life), and the unsaved unto eternal damnation, judgment, and everlasting conscious punishment and separation from God. This judgment will fix forever the final state of men in heaven or hell, on principles of righteousness.
Matthew 25:46; John 5:28-29, 11:25-26;
Revelation 20:5-6, 13:3-10
20.) We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ, for His redeemed ones. Christ will descend from heaven and raise the dead from the grave for final retribution, and His subsequent return to earth, with His saints, to establish His Millennial Kingdom.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Timothy 2:7-8;
Revelation 3:10, 19:11-16
21.) We believe that marriage is sanctioned to be established between a man and woman only. It is a holy and eternal covenant that can only be ratified and sustained by God. It mirrors God’s marriage between Israel and Christ’s marriage to the church. The works of God the Creator, Jesus the Mediator, and the Holy Spirit the Counselor, are extremely important in the fulfillment of the purpose and destiny of marriage.
Genesis 2:21-25
22.) We believe that though God allows divorce, He is against divorce. Marriage is a covenantal union that is eternal and holy in God’s sight, divorce is the breaking of this eternal covenant. Marriage between man and woman is exemplified in the marriage between Jesus the Christ and His bride the church. No where in scripture do we see God divorcing Himself from the Church.
Deuteronomy 24:1-4; Malachi 2:13-16; Matthew 5:31-32, 19:3-9;
1 Corinthians 7:10-11; Mark 10:1-12
23.) We believe that homosexuality and lesbianism are forms of fornication or sexual perversion, which includes the practice of imagining sexual acts with someone of the same sex. Based on the Word of God, it is the position of Labourers for Christ Ministries that homosexuality and lesbianism is a sin in the sight of God and is an abomination and a perversion of the natural desires of mankind. The scriptures states that man shall not engage in any sexual activities with man nor woman with woman. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost, and according to scripture, those that practice these acts shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Because of these lifestyles, the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience.
Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:24-32; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Colossians 3:6
24.) We believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We do not believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit has to take place through extreme means. We do not believe in tarrying services that include excessive behaviors and radical practices. We believe that God will give His gift of the Holy Spirit in His timing and under His conditions and we cannot force it upon a candidate nor should teach the emulation of sounds and behaviors that would deviate from the miraculous rebirth of a man’s or woman’s spirit.
Isaiah 44:3; Joel 2:2 -29; Matthew 3:11, 16; Acts 2:4, 38; 4:31; 9:17
25.) We do not condone any interactions with animals that are of a sexual nature or reflects an ungodly relationship. We believe that such acts and mindsets require healing and deliverance and a change of mind, heart, soul and desires.
Exodus 22:19
26.) We do not condone any form of domestic violence. We find that verbal, physical, emotional, and sexual abuses, of any kind, are unacceptable. Our approach is to endorse healthy and whole relationships, and we seek to empower people to love themselves, and to be healed and made whole. Our goal is to help people develop their love relationships with God, others and themselves.
Genesis 1:26-27; Psalms 139:14; John 13:24; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:19
27.) We do not condone incest. We seek to facilitate the healing, repentance, forgiveness, and deliverance from all incestuous acts that a person has engaged in or has been a victim of.
Leviticus 18
28.) We do not support or condone any form of abortion. We believe that God is Sovereign and has all power. He alone has the power to give life and to take life, and since both of these acts of God are purposeful, we know that He doesn’t make any mistakes. Abortion is a form of murder and self-idolatry that the Bible and this ministry stand against.
Genesis 1:26-27, 9:6; Exodus 20:13, 23:7; Psalm 139:14;
Isaiah 49:1, 5; Jeremiah 1:4, 5; Galatians 1:15
29.) We believe that sin brings forth the reward of death. Any one practicing the works of the flesh will cause themselves to loose their kingdom inheritance. These works include fornication, sexual perversions, adultery, masturbation (self-sex or auto-sex), pornography, oral and anal sex, filthiness, naughtiness, prostitution, idolatry, witchcraft, drunkenness, wrath, seditions, heresies, substance abuse, lying, lust, jealousy, murder, division, discord, homosexuality and lesbianism, covetousness, thievery, extortion and wrongdoing are sins and abominable in the sight of the Lord.
