LFC-WLC Covenant
Labourers For Christ Word Life Center Church Covenant
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the LORD Jesus Christ as our Saviour, and on the profession of our faith, Holy Ghost, which is Jesus, we do now in the presence of God, angels and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
We engage, therefore, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of the Church (Body of Christ), in knowledge, holiness and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spiritually; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the Church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through all nations.
We also engage to maintain family and personal devotion: to provide a Christ-Centered education for our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger, and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Saviour.
We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Saviour, to secure it without delay.
We moreover engage that, when we move from this place, we will as soon as possible unite with some other church where we can carry out the work of The Spirit and the principles of God’s Word.
Covenant
Having professed an eternal hope in Christ by faith, him being born of the virgin Mary, committed to a sinless life of miracles signs and wonders, crucified and on the third resurrected from the grave, and having presented himself to his disciples and ascended unto the Father and believe him to be hope of glory and only begotten son of GOD, I covenant with this local body, that of Labourers For Christ Word Life Center. I wholeheartedly submit to the mandate of Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. I recognize that as I line up with Ephesians 4:6 “From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love, that it is my endeavor to learn the truth of Jesus Christ and my eternal pursuit to see the plan and purpose of God for my life be made manifest.”
