“WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE?”
(John 5:6)

ORIGIN OF THE RETREAT

The Sexual and Relational Healing Retreat was birthed out of Apostle Shawnette Houghton’s own journey from woundedness, barrenness, and brokenness to wholeness in Christ Jesus.

Her desire to see the Body of Christ relationally and sexually whole may have started because of her own history of sexual deviance. But God had a plan for her life. What the enemy meant for evil, God saw a vessel that He would redeem and release in His service, for the benefit of His people.

When God asked Shawnette Houghton, “Wilt Thou Be Made Whole?” it was at Azusa in 1996. As Apostle Nina Marie was ministering about sexual brokenness, she heard the voice of the Lord ask her “if she would stand in the gap for other people’s healing. Will you be a catalyst for other people’s wholeness, since you know what this level of wounded-ness and brokenness is like?” The Holy Spirit assured her, that if she would lead, others would follow her into real healing, deliverance and rest.
Since the breaking of the new millennium, Labourers For Christ Ministries (LFC) has hosted a Sexual and Relational Healing Retreat. In 2000, the first Retreat was held at the Thea Bowman Center in Chicago, Illinois with approximately seventy participants in attendance. Currently, the retreat has outgrown that number to over six hundred participants.

Due to the increase of participants as well as the addition of the many different ministry components, the retreat has been forced to seek facilities that are capable of accommodating the necessary needs. For instance in 2002, the retreat was not only stimulated to move on to the Ramada Hotel, but the youth component was added so that all Gods Sons and Daughters from newborn to adolescents could be ministered to. God revealed that the devil is no respecter of person or age and the younger that Satan can get our children to believe his lies and live his lies as truth, the more likely he can and will take them to the lake of fire if we do not resist him. But God says resist the devil and he will flee!

In 2003, other ministry components were birth out of the retreat such as The Seven Wonders and the Leadership and Medical Components. God saw the necessity for HIV/STD testing due to the increase of sexual behavior, especially his leaders. Therefore, HE has allowed HIV/STD testing at the retreat through the medical ministry so that people would not be ignorant about their health status. The Seven Wonders experience has been one of the highlights of the retreat. The theme (material, physical content of the room) of the Seven Wonders changes each year, but His powerful, spiritual manifestation does not. It is guaranteed that one will encounter the heavy, tangible presence of the Holy Spirit. This meeting will change your life in a powerful way as testimony after testimony attests to this fact. Each year the birth of new ministry is released or added to the retreat.

It is known that brokenness knows no limits or boundaries. Satan is always on his job. He never experiences lay-offs, vacations, down-sizing, or firings. Therefore, there was a Kingdom call to expand the retreat in other parts of the country and world. In 2004, LFC—Harvest Christian Training Center located in Toledo, Ohio, hosted our first out-of-state retreat where it continues to be the home of the Leadership Training Sexual Relational Healing Retreat. In 2006, Labourers for Christ borders were again enlarged to include Cleveland, Ohio where it is the home of the Youth Sexual Relational Healing Retreat (hosted by Youth Devoted to Christ Ministries & Holy Spirit Fed Holy Spirit Led Ministries) and in that same year Abuja, Nigeria, Africa, (hosted by Break-Through Ministries).

The retreat held in November consist of 78 hours of continued worshiping and communing with God. Every year it is another opportunity to be servants to the process of other people’s healing, deliverance and wholeness during the seventy-eight hours of continuous Word & Worship. We have seen the power of God move in setting His people free from the enemy’s grasp and making them whole during this 78-hour weekend. Why not come and be a part of this tremendous move of God, as He uses those who were wounded, to help others who find themselves suffering from woundedness and brokenness now. BE IT UNTO YOU ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH!

God has given us a vision for a wounded, victimized and sexually distorted church. This vision is birthed out of and built upon one question:

“WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE?” (JOHN 5:6)
Too long have you sat and watched others around you receive a breakthrough from God. Too long have you been a spectator, while victory over relational hurts has come to others. Too long have you walked through the desert and the wilderness, taking with you haunting hurts, unnatural affections, lusts, false beliefs, generational curses, barrenness, addictions, and secret sins; desiring restoration only to have your bones broken without knowing joy. Now is your time. God has stirred up a prophetic voice that has called down the consuming and refining fire of God.

Hebrews 12:28 and 29 says, “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” He will consume the sins, behaviors, hurts, addictions, lusts, curses, lies, and even the residue of your life; if you lay yourself and all of your “stuff” on the altar. This marvelous and glorious God has promised to do a work in you at this year’s retreat. Not only will He consume, but He will refine – purifying every area of your life. He will restore your mind, relationships, strength, faith, health, gifts, and birthright. We are thoroughly excited about that!

Because of the Will of God, the Love of Jesus Christ and the Work of the Holy Spirit, you will experience continuous ministry through compassionate, anointed, and unashamed ministers of restoration and reconciliation. All that you need is for you to prepare for the FIRE, thirst after the FIRE, expect the FIRE, demand the FIRE, believe God for the FIRE, and receive it when it comes! If you will, you can be made Whole!

BLOW THE TRUMPET & SOUND THE ALARM
“When you hear the Priest give a long blast on the rams horns, have all the people give a mighty shout. Then the walls of the city will collapse, and the people can charge straight into the city.” Joshua 6:5

Blowing the trumpet is symbolic of CHANGE and War! As Joshua commanded the people to shout as they heard the blowing of the trumpet, the wall that separated the people from their promise came down, no longer hindering the people from going straight in and capturing all. We believe as we blow the trumpet, the walls that have shut-up your promise MUST COME DOWN! You will no longer be hindered by your past and shut-up in your present. You will be free to go in and capture all that the Father has for you. We declare war on the enemy of your destiny because we know that the kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent take it BACK by force.

TIME ZONE MINISTRY LEADERS

The Time Zone Ministry Leaders are the retreat troubleshooters. They can be identified by their badges and they are located in the ministry resource room If you need direction; if you want to know what is going on; for retreat updates, the time zone ministry leader is the person to see. This person will be able to assist you with any questions you may have and should be able to route you to your Wordshop, counselor and or intercessor.

ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNERS

“We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not please ourselves.” Romans 15:1
Do you need an accountability partner during this retreat? We are committed to providing you with an accountability partner who will pray and intercede for you during this weekend, and afterward, for as long as you need their assistance. We are committed to your full restoration in Christ Jesus.

SEVEN WONDERS IN THE WORD

JOHN 8:11
A place commissioned by God to be established at each retreat, a quiet place for you to go to get away from all the high activity of the Retreat to reflect and process what God is doing in your life at the Retreat. God has requested this room be prepared for Him to meet intimately with you to fulfill your individual need, it can be a place of revelation or rest, prayer or a place of high praise, surrender or a time of worship, a place of release or a time of impartation, comfort or healing, meditation, communion, repentance or all these things. He wants to embrace you with His presence and He has appointed this place to do so.

Seven places, things or biblical precepts are divinely inspired to be physically presented. They all centered a round a single theme, generally it is the theme of the Retreat. The room helps reveal the truth that is necessary to understand and embrace the precept God is communicating to you. It may illustrate a step in the process or biblically details the elements you must or have be experiencing in your life. There is an audio and written presentation on each Wonder. There are things inside the room for you. Treasures He will lead you to as a memorial to your time with the King.

The Room has a minister that is there to secure your time with the Lord and to help bring clarification for you if needed before entering. The ministry of the Seven Wonders was birth in 2003 for the Latter Rain LFC Sexual and Healing Retreat at the Ramada Inn in Rosemont, IL

PRAYER FOCUS GROUP

“But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.” Acts 6:4
During the retreat, prayer Wordshops will convene to pray with a focus on specific issues. We invite and encourage all those with a spiritual prayer gift to be a part of this prayer ministry.

RETREAT SUPPORT COACHES

They coordinate the spiritual and natural needs of individuals to the many areas of retreat ministries. They are trained in informing and directing individuals to the areas that will best serve their needs. The coaches are available to those new to the Sexual Relational Healing retreat or those feeling overwhelmed by their retreat experience. Individuals requesting assistance will be assigned a Retreat Support Coach upon completion of a Needs Form which can be obtained in the ministry resource room.

EMPOWERMENT ZONES (SUPPORT GROUPS)

“And I am assured that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again.” Philippians 1:6
Need continued support and motivation as you allow God to complete what He began during this year’s retreat? Not all healings take place in one day. At Labourers for Christ, we recognize that healing is a process, and God will have more to say to you about the issues you’ve faced and His plans for your newfound freedom in Christ. Empowerment zones are geared towards giving you consistent, continued support as you walk out your healing with God. There are several empowerment zones ministry opportunities that will take place this weekend. You can contact Labourers for Christ office at (773) 779-2900 after the retreat to find out how you can continue to participate in or become a member of one of our empowerment zone ministry opportunities.

ORIENTATION

“Get wisdom; get understanding forgetting not neither decline from the words of my mouth. Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom and with all thy getting, get understanding.” Proverbs 4: 5, 7
Orientation is a required session for all retreat attendees. Upon completion of the orientation session, each individual will be asked to sign a statement of agreement acknowledging and accepting the established rules of the retreat. If you are not able to attend an orientation session, YOU MUST PAY FOR YOUR OWN ACCOMODATIONS.

SPEAKERS

“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet…” Isaiah 58:1
In this last hour GOD is raising apostolic and prophetic voices that will declare His will in the earth. The speakers of this year’s retreat are whole vessels that were broken in times past, to minister a word of wholeness to the sexually and relationally broken. The speakers are blowing the trumpet and sounding the alarm for restoration and healing for the total man.

WORDSHOPS

“I have loved you my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love, I have drawn you to myself. I will rebuild … you will again be happy …” Jeremiah 31:3-4a
Individual seminars have been intricately designed with the areas of brokenness and woundedness in mind. God has purposed these wordshops to minister to the needs of those who will attend and no facet of relationship or sexuality will be left untouched. It is the heart of GOD that His people are taught the word as it relates to their individual situations or circumstances. Continuing Education Units (one credit) are available during the retreat at specific Wordshops indicated for $30.00.

PROPHETIC UTTERANCE

“He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith…” Revelation 3:13
In this last hour God is raising up Apostolic and Prophetic people that will hear His voice. The Prophetic Utterance service is a time for those who have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying, through Prophetic ministry. Through a prophetic sound, the heart of God will reveal His plan, confirm His promise, and affirm His purpose in the lives of each hearer.

This sexual and relational healing retreat is birthed out of an intimate relationship with the Father, and reflects the character of God. Each room has been consecrated to mirror His image and reflect His power and presence. We believe as you enter a room you enter Holy ground and will experience the fire of God through the name assigned to that room.

78 HOURS

“… and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall

This years retreat is expected to be a continuous move of God. For 78 hours you will experience the restorative power of the fire of God. Every hour during the weekend retreat ministry is offered for your healing, deliverance, and restoration. You are expected to go from Faith to Faith and from Glory to Glory. We invite you to enjoy the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

COUNSELORS & INTERCESSORS

“And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor.” Isaiah 59:16
“For I beheld, and there was no man, even among them, and there was no counselors.” Isaiah 41:28
The ministry of the counselors and intercessors plays a vital part in this sexual and relational healing retreat. Counselors have been consecrated to give Godly and Scriptural counsel. Intercessors have been found between the porch and altar interceding for the lives of each participant and for the needs of this year’s retreat. During the course of this weekend these ministries are available for confidential counsel or individual praying.

MIDNIGHT MUSICALS

“And it came to pass when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, That David took a harp and played with his hand; So Saul was refreshed and was well and the evil spirit departed from him.” 1 Samuel 16:23
The ministry of music is a unique and integral part of healing and restoration. It conditions the heart as fertile ground to receive the liberty of God. Music ripens the spirit man and ushers him to a place in worship beyond the veil into the presence of a Holy Father to receive all that the Father has.

YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT CONFERENCE

“Let this be recorded for the generation yet unborn. That a people yet to be created shall praise the Lord”
Psalms 102:18
God is rising up a generation to praise Him; our youth is the generation that will take the Body of Christ to a place called Promise. It is our desire to see our Joshua generation live consecrated and holy lives in obedience to the Father. We are presenting them to the Father, that He will make them HOLY WHOLE during the course of this weekend. The scripture says, ‘Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it’ (Prov. 22:6). It also says, ‘And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man’ (Luke 2:52). It is time for the church to raise our children and nurture healthy young adults oppose to the media, public school, internet, the streets and any other deceptive device that the enemy would use. The youth and young adult retreat is a full retreat with Wordshops and Worship services. They may also participate in other areas of the retreat such as, the Seven Wonders, Cutting Covenant, etc. Children, adolescents, and young adults between the ages of 0 – 23 will experience God now and for the rest of their lives.

CHANGE OF CLOTHES

“Joshua was wearing dirty clothes and was standing in front of the Angel. The angel said to those standing in front of him, Take off those dirty clothes” Zechariah 3:3-4
The Bible teaches us in Zechariah that Joshua the High Priest was standing in front of the Lord and Satan stood by Joshua’s side to accuse Him with dirty clothes. The Lord rebuked Satan and then commanded the changing of Joshua’s garments. Like Joshua, we as a priestly nation, having stood before the Lord with dirty clothes. The accuser is standing next to us, and the Lord is speaking a prophetic changing of our garments. During this retreat we believe the presence of God is going to cause your clothes to change and you can no longer be the same because of Word the Lord will minister to you.

ROBES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

“And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith” Philippians 3:9
God is clothing us with Himself, so that we as a Body, may individually and collectively reflect His image and His likeness. The robes you will be clothed with will be the righteousness of our Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ. God has ordained a dressing of righteousness for you in this season. You will now be identified by the robe that covers you… You are the RIGHTEOUSNESS of JESUS CHRIST!

The mission is to provide and clarify health information in order to walk in truth, peace and knowledge. The people of God do not have to perish for a lack of knowledge. HIV & STD’S TESTING

Due to the focus of our ministry and our target audience, we are providing confidential HIV & STD testing. This testing will take place in a room that will provide privacy and truth. We encourage those who have never been tested and those who may be at risk to participate in this ministry of healing through knowledge and understanding.

HEALING STATIONS

“But unto you that fear My Name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.” Malachi 4:2
Jehovah Rapha is a healer of all manner of afflictions and infections. Whether you are physically or spiritually ailing, emotionally, relationally, or sexually broken, believe that God will meet you in our healing stations to personally minister to you. May the Lord keep you from this day forward.

BONDAGE BREAKER

Bondage Breaker is a ministry designed to show the way to Jesus so that He may shake loose the shackles and break free the chains of bondage; removing the mask of addiction, causing you to know and walk in your true identity of “Royal Priesthood”.

SCRIPTURECISE

“There is a physical body, and there is also a spiritual body. It is written in the scriptures; first man, Adam, became a living person. But the last Adam became a spirit that gives life. The spiritual did not come first, but the physical and then the spiritual.” 1 Corinthians 15:45-46
As we condition our physical man for natural well being, we also must prepare our spirit man to receive by faith the power and manifestation of the fire of God. The Word declares that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of GOD. As we align our bodies with scripture we will be propelled to an increased level of faith and an open spirit to receive from the LORD.

PASTORS’ CONFERENCE

“The spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening up of the prison to them that are bound.” Isaiah 61:1, 2
The Pastor’s Conference has a two-fold purpose. First, Labourers For Christ stands with God in adamant opposition against sexual and relational brokenness in leaders. Therefore, we provide ministry to pastors and leaders to bring them to restoration so that they will not be wounded healers. Second, the Pastor’s Conference is a teaching ministry where pastors are trained on how to effectively minister to the broken, the predator and the prey and the 11th-hour saint.

COVENANT CUTTING CEREMONY

“I will remember my covenant between me and you … “ Genesis 9:15a
El Berith, the God of Covenant, desires to be in covenant with us, His sons. This formal ceremony is an opportunity to cut covenant with God, renew your vows unto Him, and experience a deeper relationship with the God that wants to be obligated to you. Come commune with El Berith.

PANEL DISCUSSIONS

“… because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people,

Topics such as HIV/AIDS, sex in the church, sexually broken marriages, predators in the church and more are discussed in the panel discussions. Prepare to receive truth and healing as the Lord liberally gives wisdom, revelation and knowledge.

MIDNIGHT CANDLE LIGHT SERVICE

“The Lord turns your darkness into light.” 2 Samuel 22:29
“Let there be light!” God knows how to give light, even in the midst of your midnight experience. Let this service be an opportunity for God to minister to you in your midnight hour through worship and the demonstration of His love.

RESTORATION CARE TEAM

RCT’s provide spiritual support to the attendees, in all areas. RCT’s are teams of counselors, intercessors, 5-fold ministry gifts, service gifts, altar and deliverance ministers that are continually available to minister healing, deliverance and restoration at the Sexual Relational Healing Retreat.

CHRISTIAN COUNSELING TRAINING INSTITUTE (CCTI)

How can I become a more effective helper/counselor for the hurting people God has placed in my life?
If this is a question you’ve asked yourself, then CCTI is for you. This accredited training institute was designed to produce counselors equipped to help people suffering from spiritual oppression. It is evident that God has placed a deep desire to minister to hurting people in the hearts of many. The Institute teaches students how to apply biblically balanced spiritual principles to the ministry of counseling. In addition, the opportunity for advancement is available, not only through our ongoing seminars at C.C.T.I. but through other agencies/institutions as well. In conjunction with Cornerstone Training (Atlanta, Georgia) who is certified through the American Association of Certified Christian Sexual Addiction Specialist and approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors, there is the opportunity to advance as a Certified Pastoral Sexual Addiction Specialist (certain criterion applies). Furthermore, the opportunity to earn a certificate and/or degree from any partnering degree granting institution or agency is also available. On the survey you received in your registration packet is a question regarding CCTI. If you indicate your interest we will make sure to keep you posted about future course offerings.

This Retreat was birthed out of the needs of hurting, wounded, and dying people. It ministers to the relational and sexual brokenness of people and ushers them toward a healing Savior. He longs for them to BE HEALED, whole and restored.

This retreat is extended without financial cost to those who attend, but is made possible through seed offerings, change for change and pecuniary partnership.
Seed offerings are one time offerings sown into the healing and restoration of men and women who long for the Balm of Gilead.
Change for Change is the planting of change to see change transpire in our lives and the lives of those who will attend. Change planted represents the loosening of chains and fetters that have people bound.

Pecuniary Partnership represents those Partners who have entered into covenant with Labourers For Christ Ministries and stand in agreement with us to see broken hearts mended, the captives set free and the calling forth of the spiritually dead from the bondage of their grave clothes into new and abundant life. The magnitude of a ministry such as this cannot be tagged and priced. It is made available by a righteous God and exceeds our human ability to pay for this level of healing.

God has not given you a spirit of fear but He has given unto you a Spirit of Power and of Love and a sound mind. Do not be bound by fear or shame. Do not let fear and shame be a factor in your decision to allow God the honor of giving you the testimony of an overcomer. The Truth has come and is present to set you free from the weight of the sin that so easily besets you. Boldly stand on the Promise of His liberating Truth. God Himself will free you from your secret faults. He who promises is faithful.

God, your Father and Lord, has prepared a table before you in the presence of your enemies: pride, lust, false beliefs, generational curses, evil imaginations, haunting wounds, relational hurts and unwanted affections. Though they come in with you, you do not have to leave with them once you partake of His Prepared Table. According to His promise, God has personally made ready for you every satisfying thing that your soul longs for with pleasure to fulfill your desire. (Psalms 16:11) That, which He has prepared for you, is not fleeting, shallow, empty or barren. It is not addictive or destructive. His provision and gift to you is fulfilling, perfecting, unspeakable an of more value than silver and gold.

This table has been prepared for you, first by the sacrifice of the Holy One; the shed Blood of the Lamb of God. And then, through the past and redeemed misery of the saints, God has birthed a compassionate ministry and an array of molded people not afraid to remember nor ashamed to declare the power of God to deliver, heal and to make Whole. We are a people made more grateful every time we remember the extension of His mercy toward us. We are a people excited and awed by the presence of God in the life of His children. We remain ever mindful of His love for us and we are humbled that He uses us to extend His love to others.
